1st Period - English I AND 4th Period - English I Honors
After warm-ups, students will be introduced to the first 4 Thinking Maps in a series of 7 we will be discussing. They will take notes on what the maps are used for and create their own original examples. They will then go on to read 10 multiple choice style questions and determine which map could be used to answer the question and why. Those who finish before the end of class will be given the chance to start on the mini-project where they will be given a selection and asked to create 10 multiple choice style questions that can then be answered using the Thinking Maps. They will use the maps from today and tomorrow.
Please note that pages listed in powerpoint below are for students in 1st period. Students in 4th will place their notes on pg. 63-70.
3rd Period - English III
Once they have completed their warm-ups, students will take notes on the 2nd set of maps having learned about the first set prior to the break. When they have completed the notes, they will go on to complete a map matching assignment in which they identify which of the 3 new maps could be used to answer a series of 10 multiple choice questions. Finally, they will continue to work on their Create-a-Question mini-project started before the break.
