1st Period - English I
After warm-ups, students will complete their first Socratic Seminar using the assigned reading pages from over the weekend. Once we have completed the seminar, students will then be introduced to the Article of the Week assignment. This will be an activity started each Monday and due by Friday where students will be asked to analyze an article and annotate appropriately to show deep thinking and understanding of the text. They will have the rest of the class period to work on their analysis.

Once they have had some time to work on it, we will begin setting up notebooks for reading the novel Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs. Students will then begin to read/take notes.
