1st Period - English I
Students will read through and discuss chapter 8 of Mississippi Trial, 1955 once we have completed the warm-up for the day. Afterwards, they will be given the rest of the class period to work on their Article of the Week (due tomorrow) or begin reading chapters 9-11 and completing their 15 TQE's (5 per chapter- due Monday).
3rd Period - English III
Once warm-ups are done, students will read through and analyze the poem "The Slave's Dream" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. They will then use the RACE method to compare the poem to the novel being read in class, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs. Any time leftover will be given to students to work on their Article of the Week (due tomorrow) or reading chapters 6-13 and preparing their 20 TQE's (due Monday).
4th Period - English I Honors
After warm-ups, students will work in their novella groups to finish the novella and complete the 2nd part of their Character Autopsy.
